Royal Civil Service Award 2019

Received my Bronze medal yesterday :) 12/12/2019
One of the most grateful moments in my life will be this one. Receiving an award for completion of 10 years in Civil Service. So grateful to be born a Bhutanese and to have a king who recognizes and acknowledges your service to the Tsa wa sum (King, Country and People) 

And also remembering myself as a little girl on my first day to work and it’s been a looonnng ‘10 years, 11 months and 13 days’ today. What a journey! 

More than my little contributions, I can’t help but feel so grateful for all that I have learnt, all that I have achieved, the opportunities, the blessings, the experiences - good & bad, the real growth - professional & personal, the lovely people I’m surrounded with & so much more! 

And all that my heart has to say right now is Long Live Your Majesty and Kadrin chhe la from the whole of my heart 🙏✨

In Buddhism, kora (which means circumambulation) is the act of walking around the sacred site in a clockwise direction. Buddhist pilgrims do kora of the religious temples, sites, objects, etc to gain spiritual merits; cleanse sins of past and present lives and purify negative karma; and to attain spiritual and mental enlightenment. Pilgrims usually recite mantras and say prayers as they do the rounds. Bhutan being a Buddhist country, Kora is very prevalent and no temples are usually seen without pilgrims doing koras. However, the trend of 108-kora is quite a new thing in Bhutan, started or at least grew its popularity only a few years ago. Trip to Iseltwald, Lake Brienz & Lake Thun, Interlaken and Sigriswil 🇨🇭

Let me start by stating, Switzerland in Autumn/Fall is a Paradise, perfect weather, colorful leaves/forest, a touch of snow on the mountains, autumn flowers (especially the wild ones), blue sky turning into pink after sun set – truly truly a Nature Heaven. Fall, especially the second half of September till the first half of November is the best time to visit Switzerland, I strongly recommend. We started our journey early in the morning from Geneva in a car, so that we have enough time for sightseeing, we planned to visit many places. Our host was a lovely Bhutanese family in Bern, where we stopped for a cup of tea on the way and unloaded our stuffs. From Bern, we were joined by the host family. We drove to Iseltwald first, a beautiful, serene and a colorful village  on the south shore of Lake Brienz,  well known for the filming of popular K-drama, Crash landing on you. In life, you meet many special friends, friends who change your life just by being a part of it, friends who make you laugh until you can't stop, friends who are there when the world seem dark and empty, friends who make you believe that you are just very special.
